Miss Russia 2009's recently discovered nude photographs may keep Sophia Rudyeva from taking part in the Miss World beauty contest. Still, her participation is not totally ruled out, since there is no explicit rule stating that contestants cannot take part in nude photo shootings.Soon after Sophia, aged 18, was crowned Miss Russia, photographs showing her in the nude appeared all over the Internet. It turned out that a while ago, reportedly when the girl was only 15 years old, she posed for an adult magazine erotic photo session. This is shocking behavior for the girl that is to represent Russia at the international beauty contest, but so far she has not been officially banned from the pageant.

Hope for H1N1 vaccine

Researchers at a South Korean university say they have discovered a candidate strain for an H1N1 vaccine, though it has not yet been approved by health authorities in the United States or the World Health Organization.The strain is a genetically modified version of a live virus, and could lead to a vaccine against H1N1 commonly known as Swine Flu.Researchers around the world are racing to come up with a vaccine for the widespread virus, but the CDC and the WHO have said it could take up to six months between the time a virus appears to the time the vaccine is available to the public.

North Korea to launch satellite

North Korea inspite of the several warnings from America and other countries continues to nurture the idea of launching its satellite in space. Even though North Korea maintains that it is sending a satellite to the space U.S continues to object to this idea as most of them believe its a nuclear missile which North Korea is testing in order to test its nuclear capability and it may bring about nuclear race in the region as suspected by the neighbouring countries.Two ships are in the Sea of Japan, the USS Curtis Wilbur and the USS Stethem, both guided-missile destroyers. Two other ships are on the Pacific Ocean side of Japan to monitor the missile if it flies over that nation. Those ships are the USS Shiloh, a guided-missile cruiser and the USS Fitzgerald, another guided-missile destroyer.

Lewis Hamilton apologises


Lewis Hamilton the reigning world champion was apologetic about the incident which happened in the Australian Grand Prix as he termed it has his worst time in his life as he had never intently lied about the incident but did on the direction of the team director Ryan's who asked him to slow down the vehicle to allow Trulli's vehicle to overtake him. Hamilton who ran a wonderful race in Australia to come back from 18th position to be back to the top 4 finish race was very much dis-heartened when he was termed as liar by the FIA.

IPL 2 moves out of India

In a big setback to the Indian public the IPL has been moved out of India due to IPL clashing with the dates of General Elections. In a meeting of Home Ministry it was decided that they cannot provide with adequate security for IPL as their first priority id to protect the leaders and to help in conducting free and fair elections. So the chairman of IPL Lalit Modi said that they are looking for alternate venues such as South Africa and England to host the IPL for this year alone. This is really a sad news for the Indian public who were waiting for this extravaganza.

Liverpool and Chelsea through


Liverpool and Chelsea underlined the Premier League supremacy by entering the quater finals of the Champions League. Liverpool defeated the Spanish Giants Real Madrid by an aggregate of 5-0 as they defeated them 4-0 at Anfield in a one sided encounter where the captain Steven Gerrad got his 100th cap for liverpool. Chelsea too defeated its rival Juventus at their home to go through the next round.

Rupee falls to record low

Due to the fear of continued capital outflow from the stock market there was the biggest fall of the rupee in the history by touching a low of 51.55 per Dollar when the market opened on monday morning. Till now it has lost nearly 5.5 percent this year. Even the sensex opened in the red when the markets opened, so all eyes are now on Reliance as news of its merger are on the air.

China's lunar mission


China's first lunar probe landed on the moon on sunday and this was the first step towards its plans to its first man to be sent to the moon. The satellite which is named as "Chang e" was launched into the space on October 24, 2007 and sent back its first full map just one month back. This was the first phase of China's three stage moon mission which will lead to the landing and launching of a rover vehicle around 2012.

Federer in tears


Rojer Federer lost to Rafael Nadal in an epic four hour battle of champions in the battle to create a record of their own. Nadal with his over powering strength and muscle power was able to beat Fedex which truly showed who is the current champion of tennis. Federer was in tears and he could not control his emotions when he got the runners-up plate. The world no.1 had few calming words for the champion and reiterated how great Fedex is and praised him.

"Slumdog millionaire" continues to rule this years awards functions as it won all the major awards at the SAG awards which held today at Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center.Slumdog which has been nominated for 10 Oscars are now clear favourites for the Oscars ,but the real surprise was the "THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON "which is the big name at the Oscars did not get any awards which has 13 nominations.The actors of Slumdog were really delighted on receiving the awards.

The captain courageous "Chesley Sullenberger" returned to an emotional home coming from his home town people present in Danville, California who did a miraculous job in saving 155 passengers and land the US Airways Airbus A320 on the Hudson river on 15th January.But the captain known for his simplicit manner gave the credit of saving the flight to the crew members who did their job remarkably well. There was a huge gathering of people in San Francisco suburb to visit the event.
